Advertising, not sure how I feel about blatant "non-sailing" advertising just to get hits, BUT, if out of that activity you get maybe a couple of people "sticking" to the site because they actaually are interested then maybe it ain't so bad...
So, I've tried out bla.st a company that posts "cards" for advertisers at a great price (free) and allows you up the pecking order for very little investment.
So the Soulsailor Add is now up, not sure i'm happy with the design but it will do for "the first test"! Sign-up to the service was dead-easy, getting the "card" up wasn't a problem either, once I got the dimentions right!
So the sevice is easy to get going with minimal time/cost entry which is V important.. at the mnoment my card is their on page 9... It will be interesting to see how it floats up or down the stack and what if any traffic it drives my way...I'll be watching, maybe you should give it a try?

Clever idea. Especially that free price to suck people in.
I think I'll stick to the traditional methods to drive traffic to my blog: blind chance, telepathy, and using words that generate hits from people googling for pornography.
I'm on the first page now! It's attracted a few looks through their site and a small hand-ful of visits to the site... good enuff for me :-)
Of course when bla.st becomes immensely popular, and we'll all have thousands of visitors a day. Well thats the plan anyway...
